Yeti SB100 2019 Black and Gold - Custom Build XC Bike

Here’s our latest custom build that rolled out the store this month! Working with the rider we managed to create a totally unique build based on the Yeti SB100 Turq-series carbon frame. The brief was simple; to give the SB100 a racier feel than comes as standard, along with a unique black and gold colour scheme.

Working towards the customers concept for a capable xc bike we reduced the front travel of the Fox Factory 32 step-cast from 120mm to 100mm, which in turn steepened the head angle and put the rider in a more efficient climbing position. Dual position remote lockout on the front and rear allows the rider to completely firm up the bike when on smooth parts of the trails for maximum pedalling efficiency.

The group set is a SRAM XX1 Eagle 12 Speed in gold, along with SRAM Level Ultimate brakes. Based on the riders background in road racing, we have spec’d the XX1 Carbon cranks with a Quarq power meter and a 36 tooth chainring. Some of the smaller details that make this bike unique, include gold ti-bolts, ODI The machine grips in gold, a carbon bottle cage, an integrated Garmin top cap mount from K-Edge, a modified Fox three position Lockout lever, and Crank Brothers titanium egg beater peddles in gold. For the muddy winter ahead the Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres have been fitted, however come summer-time, the plan is to run Racing Ray up front and a Racing Ralph at the rear to reduce rolling resistance as much as possible

Absolutely dripping in carbon, from it’s Enve cockpit and wheels, SRAM XX1 cranks, Burgtec Carbon saddle and Yeti’s carbon frame, it weighs in at a touch over 10kg in a large frame. Needless to say with a couple of tweaks the build could easily be reduced to a sub 10kg mountain bike with the removal of the winter tyres, power meter and dropper post.
