Do your friends ask if you intend to ride the chairlift when you invite them out for a ‘few’ park laps? Do your top routes frequently involve pushing up and down trails that aren’t on any map? Orbea have completely redesigned the Occam for the 2020 season and brought the best of the previous TR and AM models together into one package.

With updated geometry, MyO customization and fitted with the newest specs, Orbea say the new Occam is your ultimate trail companion. The new 2020 Occam clearly follows in the foot steps of its burlier brother, the Rallon, with its brand new asymmetrical frame and now rolling on 29er wheels. Initial prototypes combined the all-conquering Rallon's enduro rear end with the previous generation Occam's front end. Over several real world tests, tweaks and revisions the new Occam's geometry was shaped to give optimal performance in a whole range of trail conditions resulting in a longer, lower and slacker setup that will fit the proverbial quiver

Orbea Monocoque Race (OMR) frames blend high modulus fibers and high strength fibres exclusively. Prepreg carbon sheets are laser cut to minimize excess materials and overlap. Hours of pre-moulding ensure optimal compaction with the smallest amount of carbon. A full EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) mold helps eliminate wrinkles and voids. Aluminium models are treated to a Hydro High Polished 2020 Triple Butted Frame which keeps the weight low and the strength high while keeping to competitive price points. All models feature full internal cabling, frame protection on the downtube and the asymmetric design combines strength with ergonomics and a balanced frame.

The engineers at Orbea have been working closely with Fox to tune the suspension to perfection, trying over 50 options before settling on the one they liked the most.The 140mm FOX shock is fitted with a 0.2″ spacer as standard, but a 0.4″ spacer is also included with every bike so that the suspension’s progressivity can be tuned to suit the rider’s preference.The new Occam rolls out of the factory fitted with a Fox 34 140mm travel fork however, this can be upgraded to a 150mm Fox 36 at the point of purchase which slackens the seat angle by 0.5° to 76.5° and slackens the head angle by 0.5° to 65.5°.

		140MM TRAVEL WITH 140/150MM FORK OPTIONS Modern trail bikes are used for an impressive variety of rides. Some riders use them to climb thousands of meters on huge rides, others weave in and out of bike parks and jumps during their daily adventures. The new Occam is available with either a 140mm Fox 34 or 150mm Fox 36 so you can ride the way you like.
Asymmetry – STRENGTH The right side support structure strengthens and stiffens a high-stress area. Instead of using a less-efficient “shock tunnel” the Occam design offsets the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetrical support to follow a more direct path. This straight line that closely follows the shock mounting is the most efficient way to neutralize suspension forces on the front triangle.
		Asymmetry – ERGONOMICS & BALANCE The asymmetric/offset design offers unique advantages beyond stiffness and low weight. The shock is mounted in a position that offers incredibly easy access to damper controls and the tidy design leaves room for bottle with easy left-side access.
